This is a very active society with its headquarters in Norwich. Kirby Hall has excellent facilities including a Library, internet access and computer equipment and is staffed by volunteers who can assist visitors with research. A local group also meets in Diss once a month and another group meet in London. The society distributes a journal called The Norfolk Ancestor free to its members.
Based in Norwich, the archive service has been given the maximal possible four-star rating by The National Archives and makes all its documents “available across the world”, it also includes the Sound Archive.
