Somerset Family History

This section of the FamilyHistory.co.uk website is dedicated to Somerset Family History Resources and Somerset County Genealogy information.  We’ll be providing information and direct links to Somerset Parish Records Online.  If you’re a Family Historian researching Somerset Family History Records and Somerset ancestors then we’ll be focusing on Somerset Births, Marriages and Deaths and other Somerset County records.

Somerset and Dorset Family History Society

This is a very active local society covering the Somerset area.  With regular Somerset Family History events and meetings it’s a society that keeps its members informed.  They provide a quarterly Family History journal called The Greenwood Tree which is free to members.

Family History Centre

The Somerset and Dorset Family History Society also run this bookshop in Sherborne, Dorset. Facilites are free to members (small fee to non-members) and Parish Register transcriptions are available to view and there are computers and internet access to the main Family History organisations. There are a number of local Family History groups run by members and based at Blackmore Vale, East Dorset, Mid Somerset, South Dorset, Taunton,West Dorset, West Somerset, and Yeovil.
