This section of our family history site is dedicated to Cheshire Family History Resources and Genealogy in Cheshire, England, UK – that will include Chester.  We’ll be adding Genealogical Resources useful for anyone tracing lost ancestors and relatives in the region. We have a range of Cheshire family history records and resources available through this page.

Family History Society of Cheshire

This society was set-up in 1969 to assist the research of Family History in the region. You can have website membership for no cost and access all public areas of the website, attend meetings at visitor rates and even sign up for newsletters. For a modest annual fee you can become a Digital or Printed Cheshire Ancestor Member, you can access all possible services including a Quarterly Journal, access to exchange Journals, and Members’ Interests.

Cheshire Archives and Local Studies

This service is based at the Cheshire Record Office in Chester. Their service “identifies, collects and cares for” all archives and previous publications that are evidence of Cheshire communities’ and residence’s lives. This particular service is also responsible for carrying out the archives service for the boroughs of Warrington and Halton.
