Shropshire Family History Society
– This society has over 2000 members after initially being created to assist family researchers in the region in 1979. For a modest fee for membership, a range of opportunities inside the society become available: There are monthly meetings, many of which include specialist guest speakers and opportunities to meet with the rest of the society informally. There are occasional coach trips and outings, a Quarterly Journal, a Society Library and Census Records. These are just some of the many services and activities.
Shropshire Archives
– Local archives for the historic county of Shropshire, including the borough of Telford and Wrekin. Documents, books, maps and drawings are just some of the available services. Around 6000 people visit the offices annually, which includes 5 and a half miles of shelving. Previously known as the County Record Office, the name finally changed to Shropshire Archives in 2003.
