This section of the FamilyHistory.co.uk website is dedicated purely to Suffolk family history. You’ll find plenty of Suffolk Genealogy information and Suffolk Parish Register information. We’ll provide direct links to Suffolk Births, Marriages and Deaths Records and other Suffolk BMD records.
Suffolk Family History Society
This is a very active society with about 2000 members and Groups meeting in Haverhill, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Lowestoft, Sudbury, and in West London. Many members are involved in transcribing Parish records and Memorial Inscriptions. They also run a bookshop based at the Suffolk Record Office in Ipswich. A quarterly journal called Suffolk Roots is sent to members free of charge.

– Suffolk, England, Marriage records collected from 576 Parishes and some Marriage records going back as far as 1538.
Burials – including memorial inscriptions
Suffolk Early Burials Index
– This index covers mainly early burials from 1538 to 1909 and from about 34 of the 500 parishes in Suffolk. There are 62,280 records and there are some later burial records included. It’s best to use this index in conjunction with the following parish list which details both the parishes and the date ranges:

Suffolk Newspaper Archives
Local Newspaper Archives and Historical Newspapers can prove to be an invaluable information resource for Family Historians. Information can often be found that is not found in Parish Records, or Censuses.
